Peer Response Rubric

Descriptive Writing

The month of April will be spent on both Descriptive Writing and Peer Response writing. At times, being descriptive enough to get the reader interested in your writing, or arousing their senses, can be difficult. Follow along with a published writer in the lesson below to practice and improve your descriptive writing skills:

Math - Area and Volume

For our current math unit, you need to understand that to find the area of a rectangle, square, parallelogram, and a triangle, you must do the following:

L = length
W = width
B = base
H = height
A = Area

Square - Multiply the L x W
Rectangle - Multiply the L x W

Parellogram - Multiply the B x H

Triangle - Multiply the B x H and then cut in half, or 1/2(BxH)

To find the volume of a rectangular prism or a cube, you should:

Multiply the L x W x H

Try interacting with the site below and watch as the volume of a rectangular prism changes by changing the dimensions
